Singing Lessons

Lessons are tailored to your individual needs online or in person. Whether you are looking for regular lessons, ad hoc classes in preparation for a performance or audition or simply as a gift for a budding singer you know, we, at Sing Wimbledon

are happy to help.

We firmly believe that everyone can sing but that every one's voice is as unique as their finger print. Therefore we work with students to find their own individual sound, selecting the relevant exercises and material to support this.

Lessons consist of a thorough warm up, looking at increasing your vocal range, breath control and developing technique to aid your tone and vocal stamina.

All of our wonderful coaches have a wealth of knowledge in both the performing and teaching world. Although all genres of singing are taught from Rock and Pop to Musical Theatre to Classical/ Opera,  each coach has their speciality and a coach will be matched based on the singers vocal needs and desires.

Singing Lessons for the Changing Voice

At Sing Wimbledon, we believe every voice deserves to be heard and celebrated. Our voice lessons are more than just training sessions; they are affirming, expressive, and supportive experiences tailored to the unique identity of each student.

We proudly offer a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for singers of all genders, backgrounds, and experiences. Many of our vocal coaches have experience working with students undergoing gender transition, including those on hormone therapy (such as testosterone) and those navigating changes in their vocal range and tone.

Whether you're exploring your voice during transition or simply want a space where your identity is seen and respected, we’re here for you.

Your voice is an extension of who you are. Our goal is to help you feel confident and empowered to express yourself fully and freely. We honor the diversity of voices and stories that come through our doors, and we’re committed to fostering a space where you can grow artistically and personally—without judgment.

Come as you are. We'll meet you there—with knowledge, compassion, and support for your journey.

Opportunities for our Students

Concerts

All students are invited to sing as part of an annual concert. It is usually hosted at the Pheasantry, Pizza Express Jazz club, London. This venue is very popular for artists' album launches and intimate gigs and the perfect place to share all the music the students have been working on. Plus, you get to eat pizza. What's not to love?

We occasionally also get asked for singers for larger gigs in and around London which are a fantastic opportunity for our more experienced singing students.

During Lockdown, students were still able to perform with an online concert which gave students the opportunity to pre-record their song and then sit back and relax on the evening of the concert. We believe that having the opportunity to perform and share your work is so important and nerves aside, is an extremely enjoyable and rewarding experience.

The Singing Exam Pathway

We have an 100% pass rate with ABRSM (performance and practical exams), LAMDA and LCM Musical Theatre Grade exams which are excellent for building confidence and knowledge in sight reading, aural tests and performance skills. Students can choose to take the 'singing' pathway (including singing from all genres from Baroque to Classical to musical theatre, singing in a foreign language) or the 'musical theatre' pathway (including songs from the more legit, traditional musicals to the latest contemporary shows).

TESTIMONIALS

"Kate was very enthusiastic about taking on my daughter who really couldn't sing at all - she spoke half the notes rather than singing them. Within 6 months, my daughter was singing tunes and even sang at her school concert. She now loves singing. I can't recommend Kate more"

ANNIE, London

Kate manages to make singing enjoyable which for me is saying a lot. I’m an actor and have had to sing a fair amount both onstage and in film as well as fairly regularly in an audition context (both on tape and in person). I have struggled with feeling confident in my voice, I have a lower register which I used to really resent as I found that there was always call for sopranos but never really for women that could sing the tenor line. Kate has helped me see the power in my voice and it’s depth, even occasionally embracing the slightly higher as well as easier lower lines. She’s helped me grow my range both vocally and in song choice. She’s embellished parts I have to sing and she’s managed to do all this whilst having a giggle (which for me is very important).  I’ve had singing lessons with Kate in person and over zoom and have found both immensely valuable. If I’m ever required to sing, messaging Kate is always my first port of call. If it’s a crazy quick turnaround and she can’t fit me in she will always send me advice and listen to anything I’ve managed to record. All in all she goes above and beyond to help you free your voice and have fun whilst doing so and I cannot recommend her enough.

EMMA MCDONALD, Moonhaven actress

"Kate is an excellent teacher who is friendly, knowledgeable and adds a really lovely personal touch to each of our sessions, working closely with me to achieve my personal goals.  The best thing to come out of our sessions, however, is the huge increase in confidence that I feel when singing on stage and at castings.”
