LAMDA
About our LAMDA coaches
All of our LAMDA coaches are not only highly experienced tutors but also industry professionals working in the world of theatre and TV/ film. At Sing Wimbledon, we love to take the knowledge and skills we learn in the performing world and share them with our students. They’re also lovely, energetic, reliable and friendly but that’s a given! See below to meet the team.
The craft of acting and performing is naturally our priority but it is also vital that we work with our students to build confidence, manage expectations and work through the highs and lows of this wonderful but sometimes precarious profession!

LAMDA offers many different performance opportunities from acting to public speaking, Shakespeare to musical theatre.

LAMDA is a fantastic way to build your vocabulary of classical and modern day theatre, to discover new and interesting characters and ultimately learn how to use your body and voice with confidence. Something I have personally found inspiring is the Q&A’s as part of the acting syllabus that encourage students to find their own voice and articulate their opinions when discussing their pieces. This skill is transferrable into all aspects of life, giving people the confidence to hold their own in conversation, learning to dissect texts and complex plots/ characters, building on their empathy and understanding of the world. "My daughter absolutely loves her LAMDA lessons with Sophie. She is fun to learn from, very enthusiastic and caring. Each lesson begins with games and warm up exercises before working on the piece. Sophie always finds ways to make learning the lines as easy as possible and finding methods tailored to each student to further help them as they learn. Sophie is a great teacher."
